We are currently studying World War I in class. World War I was the second most deadly war of all time. Over 16 million people were killed during the four years of fighting. Young men often joined the army with their friends. These men would then see their friends killed in front of their eyes. These experiences left the men permanently traumatized. Many men suffered from shell shock, caused by the constant bombardments. Men desperate to get away from the war would desert, injury themselves on purpose, give themselves to the enemy or simply commit suicide.
If you were in World War I..........
would you have wanted to fight alongside your friends?
how would you have tried to deal with the dreadful trench conditions?
how would you have felt about the possibility of dying on any given day?

If i was in world war 1, i wouldn't fight along side my friends because its a war your suppose to let your hommies die. ERIC p.

I would feel weird. I would always be cautious, aware of my surroundings and know who around me at all times. That seems like the best way to prevent dying.

If i was in war i would want my friend with me . i will want them because i would not want to be with a stranger.And if i had my friend i could have someone to take to and trust.I would have slept under a dead body or some thing.I would try to pry and take to my family so i can have no reject when i died.

Personally speaking,I think that I would want to fight alongside my friends and the reason on why I say that is because they would have my back and I would want to return the favor.Also we could be each others protection.When dealing with the trench problems I would just have to deal with it.I would just have to keep praying to God up above and to just keep the faith.Now with the possibility of dying,I think that I would be afraid to go,however,I know that I would be going to a better place than here on Earth so I'm somewhat in between on that one.Posted by Yvette Craig from room 414.
