Child Labor

During the Industrial Revolution children worked very long hours in dangerous conditions. They received very little pay for their efforts. Child labor laws oon started to give protection to children and prevented child labor.
Today young people can work in America. The current minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.15.

1)Do you think $7.15 is a fair amount for the minimum wage? If not explain why.
2)What work opportunities would you like to be able to pursue in the summer? Are these opportunities available? What could be done to make them available?
3)Do you plan to work after school or go to college? If you plan to work what sort of career do you intend to pursue?

$7.15 is a good amount of money depending on what kind of job you have. I plan to teach at a dance school during the summer. yes, this is capable because my boyfriend's grandmother owns one.
After highschool i am going straight to college to get a good career.

I don't think that $7.15 is a fair amount for minimum wage because the minimum wage that I know is $8.00.The working opportunities that I would like to pursue this summer is probably working at a part-time job with one of my best friends. However,I'm not sure that that job is available(We want to work at a Child's Counselor Ward).I do plan to become a valedictorian and go to college to become a professor/pediatrician.By Yvette Craig 414.

I dont think $7.15 is a fair amount because when your get your check it would probably be around $200.00 then after taxes are tooken out it would probably be around $100.00 and people have alot of responsibilities to take care of.
In the summer i would like to work at a clothing store.Yes these opportunities are available.
Yes i plan to go to college and i plan on going into the fashion industry and be a fashion designer.
